BREAKING: UConn's Saturday matchup against Providence canceled
The Huskies will not play the second game of their home-and-home series with the Friars.
UConn men’s hockey’s Saturday matchup with the Providence Friars has been canceled, a source confirmed to The UConn Blog. Fox 61’s Kai Stevens first reported the news.
The reason for the cancelation is still unknown, though the source said it was not an issue with the Huskies’ program. If Providence received a positive COVID-19 result, that could force UConn to pause for a minimum of 10 days — a similar issue recently faced by the school’s men’s and women’s basketball teams.
