Lines: UConn vs. No. 20 Northeastern
The Huskies take on the other Huskies in a midweek matchup.
UConn men’s hockey will travel up to Boston for a meeting with No. 20 Northeastern on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. on NESN.
UConn’s lines
Notes
Cassidy Bowes (upper body), Hudson Schandor (leg) and Jake Flynn (unknown) are all out with injuries. Sasha Teleguine and John Wojciechowski replace the forwards in the lineup while Jake Veilleux will dress for the first time in his career as the extra forward.
It’s somewhat surprising to see Veilleux dressed as the extra forward over Gavin Puskar, especially considering Puskar saw some important minutes last season. It’s possible that the coaching staff wanted Veilleux’s versatility as a forward or defenseman for the extra skater spot and don’t plan on actually using him tonight.
The defensive lines are less balanced than previous games. UConn’s two best offensive defense — Carter Berger and John Spetz — are paired together as are the two top defensive defensemen — Roman Kinal and Jarrod Gourley — will play together.
Despite the lack of offensive production at times, Jachym Kondelik and Jonny Evans have stuck together all season, as have Vladislav Firstov and Artem Shlaine.
