UConn lands RPI forward Ryan Mahshie
The Huskies land the top goal scorer in the transfer portal.
One out, one in.
After Logan Terness became UConn’s first entrant into the portal on Monday, the team landed its first transfer addition: RPI forward Ryan Mahshie.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 209 pounds with a left-handed shot, Mahshie’s 15 goals last season were most of any player currently in the portal. He led the Engineers with 22 points and also wore an “A” on his sweater.
Despite his size, Mahshie moves well and has a great stick, according to a source. He’ll provide a finish touch along with size and experience for UConn next season.
Mahshie has totaled 24 goals and 21 assists in 85 career games. RPI chose not to play during the 2020-21 COVID-impact campaign, so he just finished his third season of hockey. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
